BIG ISLE HAWAII - Big Island to rumble with hot rods from Hilo to Kona June 23rd through July 5th 2006 in the biggest hot rod cruise Hawaii has ever seen. Over 400 cars have already registered.

At least 130 to 150 street rods from the mainland are being shipped or going by way of airfreight to the big island for the thirteen-day, 96-mile "Cruise Paradise" event.

While 70 cars from Oahu have already signed up, a whopping 200 local cars from the Big Island alone have signed up as well said Herbert Leite in a phone interview. Herbert Leite is the Cruise Paradise promoter and head honcho for the Hawaii Classic Car Cruisers car club. Furthermore, according to Leite, another 62 from Maui are pre-registered for the massive Big Island hot rod cruise. In fact, some street rods are even being flown to Hawaii by airfreight as far away as Lexington, Kentucky.

Cruise Paradise is set to begin in Downtown Hilo and end on the Kona side of the Big Isle with a lavish fireworks display and street rod giveaway. It's not confirmed but the giveaway car is rumored to be a 1930 Ford Model A Roadster.

See below for the Cruise Paradise itinerary, registration contact phone numbers and Air and Hotel Package contact information.
