HONOLULU HI. —
Bobs Diner, Drive-In and Dinner House - Good Luck Blessing Cruise
Night and Barbecue on May 22nd turned out really well for the
restaurant, said Arnold Dowling founder of Hawaii Independent Cruise
Nights and organizer of the event.
Everyone had a great time despite the
makeshift kitchen facilities, which for the time being, have
resulted in a limited menu selection. Until October that is. That’s
when Bob’s will hopefully be up and running full swing.
In the meantime they’ll slowly add
items to their menu as renovations near completion from a kitchen
fire that gutted the restaurant last year April.
Bob’s in Mapunapuna has become a
staple for the area and is one of those eateries you’d truly miss if
it had gone the way so many legendary local mom and pop places
have.
“Thank you for your patronage and
patience during our renovations,” said on Bob’s website. “We
successfully opened for business May 10, 2010.”
Will HICN cruise nights return to
Bob’s when they’ve finished rebuilding? You bet! Here are a handful
of photos taken from Arnold during the Good Luck Blessing and
Barbecue Cruise Night.
Bob’s is open and serving
breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 6:00 am
to 1:00 pm. 2828 Paa Street Honolulu, HI 96819. PH:
