I have been keeping a watchful eye on
Hawaii and the local news very closely just so I'll have something
new to report. Well, here it is first - and soon to be posted in
Honolulu Streets:
WHEELS IN PARADISE CAR SHOW
In the last few months there has been talk of an upcoming car show
on Ford Island during Memorial Day weekend in May, and now it looks
like all systems are go!
Rotary Club of Kapolei in partnership
with the Pacific Aviation Museum, Navy Region Hawaii and Hawaii
Independent Cruise Nights will be holding one of the biggest car
shows Hawaii has seen in a long time. Among the features will be at
least 100 antique cars and an estimated 3,000 people over the course
of three days. The main goal of the event is to raise about $29,000
for charity. More details will be posted on the Bulletin Board.
Folks interested in entering into the show can contact Arnold
Dowling of Hawaii Independent Cruise Nights at: (808) 689-8673.
CRUISE NIGHTS:
Turns out there are a whole bunch of cruise nights taking place
around Oahu that are being hosted by lotsa' folks. If you watch
Honolulu Streets you already know that the next HICN cruise night
show will be Saturday, February 20th, from 6pm to 10pm at Windward
Mall in Kaneohe! 46-056 Kamehameha Highway Kaneohe, Hawai'i 96744.
But guess what? ASCCN - Paradise
Cruisers (www.paradisecruisers.com) also hosts a cruise night and
their next one will be this Saturday, February 6th from 5pm to 9pm
at the Aikahi Park Shopping Center in Kailua, 25 Kaneohe Bay Drive,
Kailua, HI 96734.
NEW IN HONOLULU STREETS:
Dexter Kekua's 55 Chevy Nomad landed on the cover of Honolulu
Streets this month and more of his tricked-out stuff will follow in
the days to come. So keep watchin'.
The classified section has also seen
some activity and has been keeping me busy posting cars for sale. So
if you're in the market for a hot rod, You just might find something
that get's your motor runnin' there.
And speaking of motor, Hawaii
Motorbeat's Paul Maddox has got his column out for February and it's
a good one with plenty of links to some cool places on the web. It's
all in Honolulu Streets Magazine too filed on the left menu bar
under, Motorbeat Monthly.
There's more, much more coming from
Hawaii - and I'll keep tryin' to bring it to you all the waaaay from
here, Medford Oregon. In the meantime, keep watchin' for updates and
if I hear about it first, so will you!
Aloha,
If it happened on the streets of Hawaii,
you just might hear it first in Honolulu Streets.
