HONOLULU HI. — More than 350 new cars, trucks, sport/utility vehicles and crossovers will pack the Hawaii Convention Center, Thursday, March 26 through Sunday, March 29, for the 2009 First Hawaiian International Auto Show.

Attendees are invited to check out all the latest vehicles in a non-selling environment, sit behind the wheels, inspect engines and learn about new fuel-saving automotive technologies. From gas-sipping hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles to hot 2010 pre-production models and high-end luxury cars, the First Hawaiian International Auto Show offers something for everyone.

Several exciting all-new or redesigned 2009-model vehicles will be showcased at the First Hawaiian International Auto Show including the BMW X6, Dodge Challenger, Ford F-150, Honda Pilot, Hummer H3T, Infiniti G Convertible, Lincoln MKS, Nissan 370Z, Pontiac G8 GT, Subaru Forester, Toyota Venza, Volkswagen CC and more, as well as the hybrid models of some of America’s most popular vehicles including the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Escape, Honda Civic, Lexus GS, Saturn Vue and Toyota Camry, among others. Attendees can also catch a sneak peek at several 2010 pre-production models, many not available in dealerships yet. These include the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 and Ford Fusion Hybrid, 2010 Lexus RX 350, 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK and more.

Showgoers looking for environmentally friendly cars and trucks, and savings at the fuel pump, can follow the Green Trail at the auto show and learn about the latest technology and trends in alternative fuel vehicles. Green directional arrows along the highway carpet will help attendees find hybrid models on the show floor. Ford, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Lexus and more will showcase vehicles featured along the Green Trail.

Some of the most sought-after exotic cars will be on display, courtesy of JN Automotive Group. Highlights from the display include the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini LP560-4, Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed and more. Flaunting cutting edge designs and high horsepower engines, these high-end models from Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Bentley feature sticker prices well into the six figures and offer an escape from the ordinary commute.

Attendees can take a trip down Memory Lane as they check out several car collections on display by local enthusiast organizations. Groups showcasing vehicles include the Corvette Club of Hawaii, the Aloha Mustang & Shelby Club of Hawaii, Hawaiian Island Camaros, the Porsche Club of America – Hawaii Region and Hawaii MINI Motoring Club. Fans of performance and style will not want to miss the tricked-out vehicles displayed by the Hawaii Chapter of Scion Evolution, the VW Club of Hawaii and the Hawaii 4x4 Association. These one-of-a-kind rides demonstrate how the addition of aftermarket enhancements and a little creativity can drastically alter the appearance of a base-model car or truck.
