HONOLULU HI. — For three days, starting from September 29th to October 1st, Cool Classic Nights Car Show filled Neal Blaisdell Center with over one-hundred show-cars and six stunning motorcycles from Hawaii. "I did not do justice to the bikes," said Ed Doo, president of Holokahi Marketing and principal show promoter. But promises he'll do better next year.

In fact, after a few organizing tweaks, next year's show will include a bikini contest and more imports. "Maybe winners from another import car show," said Doo.

Cool Classic Nights saw an attendance of about 5,000 and Ed believes whole-heartedly that his show was a success. Coming to that conclusion was pretty easy after watching the crowd. He said they would stop, take pictures, talk story with friends and meet new ones.

Friday night's crowd was just ok but Saturday's masses rolled in steady and by evening, began to get real busy. Sunday was also very steady. "All in all, I thought the crowd was good!" A portion of the proceeds went to AYSO, the American Youth Soccer Organization.

No car show would be complete without entertainment and Cool Classic Nights got this one right from the start. Ed said Island Storm, Mahea and Greenwood were awesome.

Awards were given on Saturday and picture plaques were handed to every participant. Even special Holokahi awards had been given out to the most popular cars from Ed's staff including a Peoples Choice award that had been presented to two of the most popular cars in their category. Names of the winners will be posted as soon as the list becomes available.

By Sunday, the last day of the show Ed was greeted with lots of suggestions and compliments.

"As everyone left on Sun., I received many thoughts and feelings of appreciation from vendors and participants. Constructive input for future events were offered and still with a positive feeling towards the show."

Ed Doo is eagerly looking forward to putting on another Cool Classic Nights Car Show next year September but in the meantime he is organizing a Sound-Off in Feb 07. Details to follow.
