ALOHA EVERYBODY!

I know, I know, it’s about time Honolulu Streets is finally being updated. Well, I’m only one local guy from Hawaii living on the mainland and trying really hard to keep this thing going.  Don’t  want to give you all-kine excuses but that’s the truth.

Here’s the thing, in the last few months I ran a campaign asking how many of you would like to see Honolulu Streets turned into a very real gloss cover magazine for Hawaii. Well, I’d like to elaborate a little more on why I did that in addition to thanking all of you for your wonderful support.

The reason behind that whole campaign thing – I want to see Honolulu Streets – had been to see how many of you wanted to see it happen. In turn, I’d know if it would be cost effective for me to continue. Well the bottom line is that I’ve got a long journey ahead.  In order for Honolulu Streets to become a printed magazine, I would have to come back home. Don’t get me wrong, I want to come back to Hawaii all right and I would do so in a heartbeat, but as you know, `ya can’t come back with just a pocket full of dreams, it takes money.

So, after looking over the numbers from your response, and I really want to thank all of you, the numbers just aren’t strong enough for me to somehow get the money together and pull it off. That means for now, Honolulu Streets will be limited to just the Internet.

Keeping that in mind, I also want to tell you that I will be streamlining Honolulu Streets to make it more manageable for one guy to handle.. Me!

So far, I have been doing this thing purely out of love for Hawaii, Hot Rods, and all of you who are interested in both. I don’t get paid one single cent for any of my efforts so if you want to donate, sponsor, or contribute whatever to keep Honolulu Streets going, then by all means please send your contributions in.
In the next few weeks, I’ll have a button similar to this one, posted throughout the site. Anytime you get the urge to support Honolulu Streets, that button should make it really easy for you to support your dedicated Hot Rod Magazine from Hawaii.

Maybe, just maybe, I can put a kitty together (comprised of Hawaii Hot Rod Dollars) with all the names who have aided in the help and continued support of Honolulu Streets Magazine.
