WHEELS IN PARADISE CANCELLED.
Wheels in Paradise car show
scheduled for May 29-31 at the Pacific Aviation Museum on Ford
Island has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond the club's
control, said the
Rotary Club of Kapolei
website. The club intends to re-schedule the event for next year and
that all bookings, and deposits will be immediately returned to car
show entrants.
FORD ISLAND HI. —
The Rotary Club of Kapolei in partnership with the Pacific Aviation
Museum and Hawaii Independent Cruise Nights will
be hosting one of the largest car shows Hawaii has seen in a long
time.
Wheels in Paradise is scheduled for
Memorial Day weekend on Ford Island, starting at noon Saturday,
May 29, 2010.
Among the features will be at least
100 antique cars and an estimated 3,000 people over the course of
the three day weekend. The main goal of the event is to raise about
$29,000 for charity.
Dan Fullenwider, President of The
Rotary Club of Kapolei and old-school hot rodder, said that this is
going to be perhaps one of the biggest car show events in Hawaii
history.
Hawaii Independent Cruise Nights,
Arnold Dowling added, "we're planning to have vintage aircraft on
display with many of the classic cars too. Making it a spectacular
event". All proceeds will go to needy families in Hawaii and
vocational & education assistance. "Let's all support this show for
our kids,"
Dowling said.
Official entry fees and more details will be posted right here as they
come in, and on the
Bulletin Board.
